Professional Lurker – Bush Stone Curlew

By day, the bush stone-curlew disappears into plain sight.
Still. Watching. Waiting.
By night, she works the edges - the thin places where the light gives up and the dark takes over.

This version steps back from the scream and leans into the quiet.
The stare.
The sense that something is always there, just outside the beam.

The curlew has occupied that space long before any of us noticed - neither fully here nor gone. Just present.

Of course, not all professional lurkers are birds.
Some are mates who wake up early at camp, light a durry, and silently patrol the campsite while everyone else sleeps. Pete, if you’re reading this - you know who you are.

Once your order has been printed and dispatched:

Standard shipping: usually 4–8 business days

Top End customers: If you're in the NT and in a hurry (an unusual combination), we recommend choosing Express Shipping. Standard parcels from Brisbane tend to take the scenic route via Adelaide before eventually heading north. Express shipping usually takes the red-eye directly instead.

A number of friends and strangers have complimented me on it, even before they saw the caption, so it's a crowd pleaser. I love it. Bush stone curlews are among my favourite birds.
But i wonder if the whole graphic could be printed higher up the shirt, closer to the neckline, or even smaller, so the image and the caption are visible, even when the shirt is tucked into pants.
