High On Sugar, Low On Patience - Lorikeet

Rainbow and red collared lorikeets look cute, sound cheerful, and act like they’ve just smashed a litre of red cordial. Native to the NT and much of Australia, these sugar-charged parrots live life at full volume — squabbling, swooping, and screaming at anything that moves.

Thing is, too much sugar really does mess them up. Feeding them jam or honey can make them cranky, itchy, and sick — and sometimes it’s mistaken for a serious condition called lorikeet paralysis syndrome. They don’t need our desserts. They’ve already got nectar, fruit, and pure chaos running through their veins.

So this tee’s a tribute to one of the loudest birds in the tropics: colourful, wired, and one mango away from a meltdown.
