Product Details
Bombay Rock was the Gold Coast’s loudest corner in the 1980s.
Sitting on Cavill Ave at Ferny Ave in Surfers Paradise, on the old El Rancho Steakhouse site, it became a proper live music institution. Foam-lined walls, sticky floors, and big Australian acts rolling through like it was just another Friday. INXS, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, The Divinyls, Australian Crawl. If they toured in the 80s, chances are they sweated it out there.
Long gone now, replaced by shiny apartments at Circle on Cavill. But for anyone who lined up under the neon, Bombay Rock wasn’t just a venue. It was a rite of passage.
